After checking the auto compatibility chart on the Dension website, I was able to confirm what the enfig reps told me on the phone: that the 2003 Mini Cooper S with HK boost radio needs the GW1LBM4 rather than the GWL1LBM1. Those guys are super helpful, totally down to earth. After ordering online, the unit arrived within days. I was able to install the unit and put everything back together the following day in under 2 hrs. The youtube videos are super helpful. Nothing was broken in the process and when I plugged it in it worked exactly as advertised: steering wheel controls are fully functional and it charges the ipad. I was a little concerned about the volume. I think a CD is slightly louder, but honestly it's loud enough while driving with the fan on or windows down. Anything louder would contribute to hearing loss. Also, I was a little worried about the price v. quality but this unit is definitely worth the price and all of the components seem to be high quality.
