This Holder works excellent when you don’t want the charging cable hanging from your Holder over your dashboard but at the same time always want your battery fully charged! The Holder also provides power output and data transfer. The Holder is custom made to fit your device with grooves on the inside walls to match the thickness of the device. This will allow your device to slide freely in/out of the holder. There is no need for you to disconnect any cable or press on any release buttons. A connector is permanently attached to the Holder’s base. From the back of the Holder's base there is a straight power cable attached. The straight power cable can easily be hidden between/through the dashboard panel sections so you have a "clean" set up with no cables hanging in front of the dashboard. The straight cable connects to a box (which you hide inside the dashboard) that converts the power from 12 V to 5V. At the other end of the box the power cable continue with a red and a black cord for plus and minus at the end. The red cord connects to a positive power source and has to be used with a 1.5 A fuse. The connectors used on the cables are Molex connectors. Installation by a professional installer is recommended. A short cable with a 4 pin Molex connector is also sticking out from the box. This box provides power (+/-) in two of the pins and RX/TX in the two other pins. RX and TX are data signals from the device (not all devices provide RX and TX signals). This short cable provides various features such as power for an external GPS receiver, Data signals/transfer to a printer, fax or other devices (Note: support for RX/TX signal in the device is required, e.g. Mini USB, DC 3.5 and 4mm do not support data transfer). The short cable can also be used to create your own solutions.
