Plug and play subwoofer installation kit for most late model Audi & Volkswagens
Amplifier
Kicker Key 500.1 Mono amplifier with built in bass restoration DSP. We choose to install this amplifier because it has a built in high to low converter. It also had built in bass restoration. The factory speakers have low bass filtered out to protect them from failure. The built in DSP restores the low frequencies to produce better bass.
Subwoofer
The kit includes the Kicker TRTP102 Down-Firing Enclosure with a CompRT 10″ woofer and a passive radiator. I love this box because it sounds great and since it’s down firing you can put your groceries on top of it without worrying about damaging the woofer.
Power Kit
Out power kit includes a 17 ft power cable and a 2 foot ground wire. The power cable has a spade terminal instead of a ring terminal since the bolt on the battery terminal does not come completely off. A 6 foot options is available for cars that have the battery in the trunk.
Radio Harness
This is optional because some of you may already have our behind the radio harness installed.
AAI4-VW16 is needed to connect this kit to the back of your radio.
You can also use the PNPAMP-EURO16. It amplifies the factory door speakers.
Radio to amplifier T harness
This harness connects to the harness above. The other end connects to the RCA inputs on the kicker amplifier.
Bass Knob
The bass knob is optional but its helps out when you want to lower the volume on the subwoofer. Some songs produce more bass than others. This helps fine tune your listening experience.
