Technical info

The units below only work with the PCM2.1. The PCM 2.1 (Navigation Screen) cars will almost always have a fiber optic amplifier.  There are very rare early models that have a PCM but not fiber optic amplifier audio. In the hundred or so cars I’ve worked on and hundreds that I’ve sold parts to I’ve only seen it 3 times. Some Boxster and Cayman cars may have PCM2.1 and no Fiber. Even though the audio system is the same I do not see too many of them because until now we never added them to the site.  If you do not have a fiber optic amplifier then the car must be programmed at the dealership.  Contact us with your vin number if you want us to check if you have a fiber optic amplifier.

Interfaces

This is the interface most of you are going to buy.  It does not keep the CD changer. (read the technical info below for more information about programming your radio)

If you decide you want to keep the CD changer this is the interface you need. (plus an extension mentioned below)

If you decide you want to keep the CD changer you will need to connect the Dension unit at the CD changer.  You will also need to run this extension into the cabin using these wires.  Only the round 9 pin and USB will be used.  You will also need a 3.5mm extension for the microphone that we do not sell.

DO NOT BUY THIS INTERFACE – While this is compatible with your car this is the original version that does not have Bluetooth.  It is still used for Volvo and Aston Martin but we put it on here because I’m sure someone will come looking for it.

Factory Fit Microphone

Your car has a factory location for the microphone used with the factory phone.  It is in the steering Colum.  This microphone gives you a clean look as well as good sound with most aftermarket radios. (see installation video below)

CD Changer and Phone Module bypass loop

If your car has a CD changer and you do not want to do the extra work to keep it you will need this loop to bypass the CD changer or it will conflict with the Dension unit.  If you want to use the Dension unit for phone calls and have a phone module you will need to bypass the factory phone module..  There are videos below that show your how to bypass both of these.

Wire tap tools

This part is the easiest way to tap into your factory power wires for power.  You will need one for each wire and we recommend getting an extra one just in case you drop one where you cant reach.

Pry Tools

These are the Panel Pry Tools that we use in our videos.
